Our History
In 1961 John L. Joseph Sr., an electrical contractor in the Metro Detroit area, along with his wife Marguerite, decided to open up a small store front to local contractors for electrical supplies. John had always been an entrepreneur with a good business mind. When he first opened up, they were just building what was then called the expressway, which is how he came to name the company Exway Electric. As time went on, he added onto the original building and opened up our lighting showroom in 1972. Together with his children, the business grew. We are now on our third generation of management. Jeffrey Joseph is our President and Lisa Joseph Ruggirello is our Vice President.
